Hollywood Debut with Horror Thriller

Kangana Ranaut Set to Make Hollywood Debut with Horror Thriller ‘Blessed Be the Evil’

Bollywood icon Kangana Ranaut is officially stepping into Hollywood with a chilling new horror film titled Blessed Be the Evil. Known for her powerhouse performances and fearless persona, Ranaut is ready to take international audiences by storm in this gripping project from Lions Movies.
The film will also feature Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone, who recently gained attention for her role in Tulsa King. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer in New York—a location strategically chosen, producers note, to sidestep any uncertainties related to newly announced Trump-era industry tariffs.

Blessed Be the Evil follows a Christian couple coping with the trauma of a miscarriage. In hopes of a fresh start, they move into an abandoned farmhouse with a dark history. As they navigate their grief, a malevolent presence begins to test their faith and their relationship in terrifying ways.

At the helm is director Anurag Rudra, known for New Me and Tailing Pond, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Gatha Tiwary, founder and president of Lions Movies. Both Rudra and Tiwary are producing the film, with Wade Muller (Elephant WhiteOccupation: Rainfall) serving as director of photography.

Reflecting on his inspiration, Rudra shared, “Growing up in rural India, I was surrounded by folklore that left a deep impact on me. These stories were so vivid and real that I wanted to share them with the world through cinema—the most powerful medium to bridge dreams and reality.”

Tiwary echoed the excitement: “A story like Blessed Be the Evil is rare. We've crafted a suspenseful, emotionally intense narrative that’s well-positioned for international markets—across both streaming and traditional sales.”
Ranaut brings more than just star power to the role. With four National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards, and a seat in India’s Lok Sabha, she’s a multifaceted force in the entertainment and political worlds. Her recent directorial effort Emergency, in which she portrayed former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, also saw a global release earlier this year.
With a stellar cast, a haunting premise, and a strong creative team behind it, Blessed Be the Evil is poised to make a significant impact in the horror genre—and mark a bold new chapter in Ranaut’s already illustrious career.
